the stars of summer is the sequel to all four stars and is just as exciting as the first. gladys is invited to summer camp by one of her new friends and gets a new assignment.
pam munoz ryan's new book echo has four different stories of kids who all at some point grab hold of a special harmonica. each person's story takes place in a different decade. the book starts out with otto who meets three mysterious sisters. friedrich lived in germany during world war 11. mike is a boy who lived in pennsalvania, and ivy is a girl who lived in california
i loved this book. it was hard to put down even though it's a little sad in some parts, but it also had stories of love and hope.
jane: i'm so happy that julia is willing to write about the books she's reading this summer! all of the books she reviews would be good for somewhere around the 9-13 age range. hope they can inspire someone to pick up a good book!

julia
