tara dairman's all four stars is about a 12 year old girl named gladys who loves to cook gourmet dishes. her parents don't approve of cooking and only eat cheap junk food. when a cooking accident leaves her deprived from the kitchen and her parents' wanting her to be more normal, gladys doesn't know what to do with her herself until an exciting essay contest and unexpected friends come into view. i thought this was a super cute and exciting book and also one of my favorite books this summer.

i loved this book. it was hard to put down even though it's a little sad in some parts, but it also had stories of love and hope.
jane: i'm so happy that julia is willing to write about the books she's reading this summer! all of the books she reviews would be good for somewhere around the 9-13 age range. hope they can inspire someone to pick up a good book!
