i've been loving very simple silhouettes in very simple fabrics. basics as basic as they come…white and black. the opposite of that fabric up there, huh? :) i love square tops and dresses. so i'm going to sew something right in the middle…a square sort of tunic with long slits at the sides for ease and comfort. these will be inexpensive pieces that i hope will get lots of layered and un-layered use this spring over leggings. i'll be wearing them with sweaters, scarves and boots for now, and on their own (+ leggings, of course) with sandals in the weeks to come. i'm going to trade out my dark plaid flannel and checked button downs…i will love seeing them again in the autumn! that's the plan, so off to find the fabric! :)
by the way, have you seen this amazing collection by josi faye? it's her first s/s collection and i love it! it's like the perfect little simple capsule wardrobe. so many combinations could be made out of those few pieces.
what are you feeling inspired by? i'd love to hear!
love,
jane
