top (to dress) to pajamas: 01

as soon as i saw this liberty fabric, i knew that i loved it.  tiny constellations on a navy background...love.  first i made a wiksten tank.  i really liked it.  it went with paler jeans, but not so much with dark ones.  i didn't end up wearing it as much as i would have liked.

then i made it into a dress to wear to a wedding.  i liked it, but the color somehow seemed a bit dull on me.  i wore it to bed the night of the wedding...pajamas perhaps?

a problem with it being pajamas is that i hadn't made the wiksten tank in a while, and i forgot to raise the neckline like i like it best.  let's just say that i'd prefer the neckline raised a bit.  :)

so here it is...beautiful fabric...remade into pajamas that i hope will get worn and worn during these warmer months ahead.  i have sewn the april rhodes date night slip before and like wearing it for pajamas, so the probability of success for this version is high.

for this alteration, i was able to place the top of the slip pattern piece as high as possible onto the dress.  the side seams were at about the same spot as they would have been had i just made the slip in the first place.  i cut across the top only following the lines of the pattern piece.  there were still a few scraps of fabric leftover  to use for the bias binding and straps.

spring is my favorite time for a good rejiggering!
