little bits of green…and little bits of handmade. i like this touch of color peaking out and adding just the right little something to all that indigo goodness. this indigo beauty & use top came up too high at the neck and the facings got bunchy after getting washed. i cut down the neck, added bias tape, and stitched the facings in place. a piece of clothing won't last in my closet if there are too many, "i just don't like….s" about it. these little fixes make all the difference. everyone's body shape and preferences are different, so some little changes i prefer are just for me and that's ok. i really love when i can take something i like and make it into something i love! sewing opens that door for me. this is my muslin (test version) of the ruby. i was trying to channel ace & jig with this fabric (bought last year), but now i'm not totally into it. i really like the easy fit of this dress. it would be breezy for hot summer days and cute with a cardigan too. this blue top went from being in danger of being donated…to one of my most worn items of clothing. it was a tunic length, 3/4 sleeved, stand collared top. it wasn't getting worn much, possibly because the color just wasn't great next too my face. i cut down the neckline and removed the sleeves. since there were gathers at the neckline and the sleeves were roomy, i added some elastic at each opening. i like to have my rear covered when wearing leggings, so now i can wear this top under a regular tee when wearing leggings. i love this combination so much…comfy!
