may 2…liberty modified sew liberated schoolhouse tunic

i've been hearing about me made may around the interwebs for  a while…so i thought i'd give it a go this year.  the idea is to wear something handmade every day during the month of may.  i was inspired after i was already dressed on may 1st.  i was happy to look down and see that i was already wearing something handmade!  i've remembered the project each day after i'm already dressed, so i don't really think it will be too hard.  it just so happens that i've made a lot of my warm weather clothing.

i've been thinking about something felicia semple wrote in the post linked above,  "I still go out seeking the special in shops when I need a little pickmeup and sometimes I think I see my handmade as not quite as special."  ​

this is true of me as well.  it is quite silly, since the pieces i've sewn are some of my favorite pieces really.  not all of the things i make work out the way i imagined, but when they do…it's wonderful!

so my goal with this project is to notice and appreciate the pieces of clothing i have created…to see the beauty in the work of my hands.
