It looks like masks are going to be part of our everyday wear for a while yet. I have two masks that I'm currently wearing on repeat. Each day I drop one into a mason jar with a little soap + water + shake it all up. After rinsing, I hang it outside to dry. After an hour or two in the summer sun, I have a clean, dry mask ready for another day. It's just one more use for those trusty glass jars. Mask up, friends...for all of our health!

Our local primary elections are tomorrow. These local elections can pass right by many of us. It's summer + they just don't receive as much publicity as national elections. We know that local elections effect us right where we live...but often we don't really notice the shifts they can bring. These days, however, we are aware that our county board of commissioners decides if we have mask mandates or not. Our school boards decide what sort of things teachers are able to teach in classrooms. And our library board decides what kinds of books are available. We've seen + felt this happening in our own community.

Local elections matter...a lot. (We like to look for sample ballots online in order to look up the candidates ahead of time + form opinions.) Please take the time to vote thoughtfully! Love, Jane |
